King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is a modern action spin that fails to capture the grandeur of its subject, however, depending on your ability to look past its conceptual shortcomings, it might just have a bit to offer. In listening to the Dolby Atmos mix I found it to be of the less aggressive variety, with respect to use of the entire platform, which considering the source material, was a bit disappointing. This soundtrack contains an abundance of elements that would allow for a busier object based mix with respect to the overhead channels. In general, its use of audio objects placed above is limited to atmospherics and occasional panning fills. I would say that where applied it�s done to good effect, and creates a fair level of immersion that coincides with the onscreen events nicely. As an enthusiast, I appreciate a well-crafted sound mix that draws me into the onscreen elements, regardless of where the sounds are emanating from. This mix is fair, and incorporates a correlated and broad soundstage where effects swirl, shift and traverse the listening area. I think that this Dolby Atmos mix would have benefitted from more active use of immersive sounds which in turn would have enhanced the source material.

In addition to the mythical power of Excalibur, there is magic, betrayal, and fantastical creatures. Merlin gets only a casual mention, but in his place, are the Mages, possessors of powers of their own, which in this case are used to assist Arthur. The villain isn�t drawn very well, coming across as only power hungry, and willing to do absolutely anything to get, and keep it. This leaves him less interesting which only adds to the disjointedness of the various elements that make up the plot. There is a plethora of characters, none of which feel fully fleshed out, this includes Arthur himself.

There have been many films based on the subject matter featured in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. This is a more or less modern take on the story of Arthur, his legacy, and the might of Excalibur. To be honest, there is little about it that is reminiscent of the tale, perhaps that it what I found to be its most interesting element. It�s not a particularly good film, narratively speaking, but I think it does take liberties that peel away the old timey feel that you would expect from a King Arthur story. If the intent here was to come up with something in that vein then I would say that Guy Ritchie and company have done exactly that.

Well if the second video is anything to go by it looks like they increased the unit sizes which is something that I at least was hoping they would do.Not sure about the giant bugs as villains. It could be better if they focus on the lost legion mixed with druids of the North. Will play it for sure though.

I think Classic is practically its own game compared to Gold, I prefer classic because I like the parkour and the knights feel more skill based. A good knight in classic can kill multiple knights without dying for awhile but that doesn't seem even slightly possible in Gold. Even archer's felt better. The overall simplicity was just better in my opinion. Is it not on steam? Classic? Because that might help its population and help you guys net more $$$.

I would just play the release but you know... I believe classic to be the better game. I've been meaning to advertise for it to gather more people to it. I mean its a free 50mb game that is literally too much fun and can run on almost any relic of a computer.

Watching any kind of theatrical entertainment requires a willingness to suspend disbelief and pure fantasy can be fun and entertaining but there's a limit and when that line is crossed amusement is replaced with irritation. I think I could enjoy an Arthurian story in which he's resisting the Saxons or a thirteenth century Arthur but either one would need to be at least passably consistent in period details or my eyeballs would start ti itch!

I can think of two ways to make a good Arthur movie. One would be to set it in in Britain around 450 to 500 AD with Arthur defending the post Roman kingdoms from Saxon incursions. I can only think of one movie that tried this, and it wasn't very good. The other way is to set the story in some mythic Medieval wonderland. I favor putting it into a 13th century setting, just before plate armor started to come in. Using as genuine as possible clothing and armor and customs from that period would be very cool. I would hope that modern ideas about the way things should be could be kept out of the film.

Agreed with the Excalibur comment. John Boormans vision of Arthur's court was without par even if the armor and weapons were a century late. It didn't matter. I wish they would make another movie similar to that. A really accurate movie about Caesar would be nice too. Perhaps only focusing on his conquest of Gaul and the attempt at Britain. It'll happen eventually

All in all, this movie looks like a proper abomination - should you think me excessive, have a look for yourself, or look at the pic below (featuring D Beckham in his first widescreen appearance - nice pyjamas, not to mention the sword which is clearly a cheap Chinese counterfeit of the lord of the ring ring wrath sword with a tiny pommel...and these helmets, or Becham's trendy hair cut don't help much either).

I'm working on a game with physics synchronized over the network, and I was always wondering what solution did you come up with while developing KAG.

How is movement in KAG synchronized? Are you sending movement snapshots with position and rotation at given intervals and interpolating between those, or just synchronizing key presses and releases (for players) while occassionally checking for deviations and snapping if it exceeds a certain threshold?
